Jeff Lorber, the recent 2018 Grammy-Winner, after six nominations, began playing piano with only four years old in his hometown of Philadelphia. After playing in a number of R&B bands as a teen, Jeff went on to attend the famous Berklee College of Music, where he developed his love for Jazz. In the seventies, he founds The Jeff Lorber Fusion, one of the most important bands in the Jazz Fusion world. In the 1980’s, Jeff launched his solo career with the album “Worth Waiting For” and since then has released successful albums and collaborations with other artists. His icons are Bill Evans, Bud Powell and the pianists who used to play with Miles Davis. His sophisticated sound mixes perfectly elements from Funk, R&B, Rock and Jazz Fusion, which has made him a pioneer on Contemporary Jazz, a sub-genre of Jazz Fusion where Jeff Lorber feels at ease.
